Rainbow Stories is complete!

March 25, 2024 / Myanmar, News

The Rainbow Stories programme supported a new generation of Myanmar documentary filmmakers in creating engaging films that question and reflect on their LGBTQIA+ community.

10 emerging filmmakers were paired to develop their creative skills and direct five short documentaries to reach new local and international audiences through queer and immersive stories from Myanmar. The participant joined 22 practical documentary sessions over 12 weeks where they explored documentary creativity for the international film festival market.

We are delighted to announce that the films have now started their festival distribution. We are looking forward to sharing these impactful, intimate stories with global audiences. The short documentaries include:

I Found My Yellow by Shin Thandar

Lollipops by Yadanar Oo

Religiosa by Han Oo Htet

The Bus Driver by Ku Ki

Unhappy Girl by Gabriel Htoo

The Rainbow Stories programme is supported by the British Council Myanmar and it was developed by the Scottish Documentary Institute in collaboration with TEN MEN FILM.
