Hanoi Stories (2019)

Hanoi Stories (FAMLAB X) was a Stories workshop organised in Hanoi in October 2019. The five short films made by local up and coming talent celebrates female musicians and explore some of the social challenges faced by the current female generation. This workshop programme was organised in partnership with TPD Centre for Development of Movie Talents. It was part of as part of the British Council’s Heritage of Future Past project working with music and film heritage, part of a Cultural Heritage for Inclusive Growth pilot initiative.

TPD Centre of Development of Movie Talents
Established in 2002, TPD are a not-for-profit and professional centre working to support the growth of the young cinematic community. They wish to make a contribution to the social development of Vietnam through a programme providing assistance for short film making projects and offering a nurturing environment for creative young filmmakers, and especially through a visual-audio educational programme for young people.

Syrian Stories (Turkey) (2017)

The Syrian Stories programme is supported by the British Council’s Culture and Development programme – a body of work that supports creative responses to the social and economic needs of communities affected by conflict and crisis. From March to July 2017, the Syrian Stories programme has given 35 young Syrian film-makers the opportunity to take part in 10-12 days of intensive training through workshops held in Beirut, Amman and Istanbul.

Amman Stories (2017)

This practical documentary workshop helps enhance upcoming filmmakers in Jordan explore documentary creativity for the international festival market. This workshop was a mixture of seminars and consultant-led advice in order to achieve a new understanding of creative filmmaking documentary and storytelling. It is a project-led workshop to produce four three-minute films –  by teams of four participants each to cover different roles: director/ producer/ camera/ sound/ editor.
